Bride Bag?!

I am a bag and shoe gal and in all the bridal pics I've seen I have suddenly had a thought:

Do brides have handbags?

I guess thats why we have bridesmaids to carry everything around but yeah.. hm.....

Even as a cartoon I look good as a Bride!

I really need to get to Donnabella Bridal.....

They stock a range there called Glamour Plus and its wedding dresses for ladies 16+ and I have been checking their site and really really like the dresses below. Spot the one from the expo??? I really need to make an appointment to go check these out, so I can get the dress horror over and done with.

Dont think thats quite the right attitude to have when shopping for the wedding dress.....

Thoughts??

/\ Tiffany Blue Sash instead of the green /\

You can see all of these dresses here.

I was also playing on Davids Bridal the other day and came up with this.... I love the matching of it all. Cant help my OCD coming through lol though the faces scare me!!

Not Want.

So after finding some inspiration for pre-wedding shoots and other bits and pieces, I have started to realise what I definetely Do Not Want!

Can you pick what is??

HUNCHED OVER BRIDESMAIDS!!!!!

There are 101 other poses and yet they all bend in and hunch over. I am quite tall, well tallest out of all my friends and in some pics I am slightly bent at the knee leaning forward to make myself get to their height and I hate those photos! Thankfully it only took me till I was 17 to realise the error of my photo standing ways and always stand tall nowadays and these pics just remind me of that. Then again if you're trying to cram in a monser of a bridal party with like 10 ladies I kind of understand but again, there are millions of other stances/angles/arrangments to do that do not require this.

If I see my girls doing it, I will go Bridezilla on their asses. Never mind the crappy cake or wilting flowers, bend/hunch together Bridesmaids and you will set me off!

My Girls.

There comes a time in your life when you realise.....

who matters
who never did
who wont anymore
and who always will.

So dont worry about the people in your past, there is a reason they didnt make it into your future!

I would just to make a point that I have some of the best friends anyone could ever ask for. Though we change and grow and some go travelling or have children and live in other states... you know a true friend when even though you haven't seen each other for a month or so, it doesnt feel like it. When silences are never awkward and when they've just given birth all you can think is 'God I hope I look as half good as that' (lol)

I love my friends, I would not be who I am today without them.

Thank you.
xx

Faking It?

Eyelashes are not the only thing I have been looking at faking - but also flowers. I decided to check out some silk/real touch ones and found a lovely, very accomidating lady on oztion who after explaining to her what I was after, which was inspired by a bouquet I saw on Martha Stewarts Wedding.....

She took about a week to source a few bits and pieces and today emailed me back with a few photo examples of what she has made before she sends it off. I wanted white/ivory roses and loved the pearly/blue ball things seen in the above and I must say, she did a fantastic job in putting it together for me. What do you think???

My only worry is the flowers will look 'to fake' so for now I have ordered just the one bouquet to check out in person before ordering more and if it is ok, the dummy one will be used as throw away and then 4 will be ordered for the BM's and also in talks with her now to organise my bouquet and corsages. But that will all be on hold till I recieve this one...... *crosses fingers*

I have been really struggling about whether to go for real flowers or these ones. On the plus these will last and last and last... where real flowers may not even see out the day! And when some quotes I have got from around the place range from $600-$1100 which I think is another insane wedding cost, if I can get all the flowery things I need for $150 ... why the hell not??

Inspired.

I browse ALOT of wedding related blogs and have come across Emily Nathan's 'fairytale' inspired photo gallery a few times around the place.

Today I came across it again and thought it deserved a mention incase you havent been able to have a look. It really gave me some inspiration for what we could for our pre wedding/engagement shoot.

Dont know how H2B would feel about it though lol! Maybe I just wont word it as "fairytale inspired" ????

Here is my favourite photo from her gallery. Check out the rest here <-

Shoes were not the solution to her problems but they did help....

So since I have been feeling just a little stressed lately..... I have been browsing the net looking at shoes and well, there's gold in them there sites!

Meet..... Snakey. My new lover

I do love a good pair of statement shoes, especially red soled ones. They're not to OTT for wedding shoes are they??

The first dress.... now in digital ha ha ha!

Last month I did a happy wedding dress entry. (see it again... here) And the designer finally put it up on their website so now you can see how its supposed to look, I didnt have a hoop under it, or hair and makeup done and yeah... now you can all appreciate the dress for what it is! Beautiful.

Mmm.... Cake!!

One of the most important elements of a wedding day is the wedding cake. People will remember the food, the entertainment and the cake – though that kind of comes under food. The cake is well apart from the first kiss is one of the most photographed moments. It has many symbolic meanings behind it, depending on culture and has been involved in all wedding ceremonies dating back to the roman empire though back then bread was often used and when actual cake came into fashion it was smashed above the brides head. Fun for her. The cake cutting is a high in any wedding, so I have been putting quite a bit of thought into it.

So what’s in a cake… shall any other desert taste as good?

After buying a cake magazine and looking online, cakesCa are well amazing. Not only are they a delightful desert but the way you can get them made and decorated these days is just jaw dropping. Some of the designs I have seen – how or why would you want to cut it up?? They are works of art! So as I started the cake quote mission I had no idea what to ask for. It’s all very overwhelming. So many designs and colours! Some people had their invite design transferred to the cake, one crazy and insane bride even had a cake made as a life sized model of herself! God only knows why…

So after going through thou-sands of images and what not, H2B and I decided on what we will have… it was the most easiest decision we’ve had to make together so far now thinking about it.

Welcome to our cake:

A very simple round 3 tier cake (first image) with the ribbon around the base like the second image. I think it's very elegant and simple. Not forgeting we're getting a cake top from
Sweet Frost Tops which will add some "jazz" to it!

Give the girl a drink!

I am having a fat frumpy "I feel ugly" nothing is going right day today.
  • I am stressing over money

  • I am stressing over being Bridesmaid for Melbourne Lady

  • I am stressing that we dont have enough time left to organise the wedding to what we imagined it all to be and including all we had wanted (like OOT bags etc....)

  • After being 99.99999% on who I want for bridesmaids, I am now doubting my decisions

  • My birthday is 9 days away... and I hate getting older.

I have 101 things I need to do and most of it before end of May and I just cant see it all happening!! On top of that Melbourne Girl's hens night is the last weekend in May and I still haven't managed to get flights over there cause the $$ we have we need to pay our celebrant!! Seriously considering a credit card.... but dont want to get into debt!

Oh dear god I need a cocktail!!!

Fake It?

I have been looking around trying to work out how I would like my makeup to be and have fallen for False Eyelashes! I gave them a shot last year but not sure if it was my fantastic skills or something else, I couldnt help but resemble a drag queen. I think it was just me.

I am now going to buy another packet and play around with them again, maybe overnight my eyelashes would have grown into lucious long locks of the eye variety hahaha....

This is what I'm talking about! How awesome is this??
