New Blog Love

All the women on here have very expensive and very lovely shoes.
Plus it's just amazing inspiration... Looooove It!!

Another awesome inspiration site - can't believe I haven't looked here before!!

Thinking thinking....

Things are so expensive and I really don't want a half assed wedding. We have been saving and saving (mainly this year..... took us some time to get motivated) but I am really trying to work the budget with all the other things going on.
I haven't talked to H2B about it yet, but I have been contemplating moving our date back, perhaps as far as another year just to make sure we have plenty of money to cover it all. I am prob just being silly but well I have expensive tastes!!!

Bridal Shower

Here is the inspiration board for the Bridal Shower I was wanting to do. I totally Retro Fabulous 1950's inspired "Kitchen Tea" where the ladies would adorn their finest pearls and dressed, cupcakes and cucumber finger sandwhiches with the crust cut off, perhaps some martini's or coca cola in glass bottles.
  • Instead of gifts, with the invitations a receipe card will be sent out with a little poem about sharing your favourite dish with the bride to use in her future etc etc
  • A game that involves cupcakes ;)
  • Everyone is to come dressed up in 50's style and a prize for best dressed will be given. So don't forget your gloves, pearls and best hat!
  • Croquet and Boche(sp?) will also provide some games and entertainment
  • Pink will be the big player colour things wise
And a whoooole bunch of other things I have been collecting as well.
I miss being a Bridesmaid. I have so many other idea's and themes so friends of mine better start getting rocks on their fingers so they can have a total kick ass bridal shower to!
Oh and to keep the penis/male stripper/condom covered veil/get the bride totally rotten drunk lovers - after the lovely ladies day .... that night those who want to can go out and hit the town!

But....

I love a good party.

I love theming and decorating and organising.

Weddings are proving to be extremely fun to organise. Except there is just to much I want to do and it has worked out to be enough for about 3 weddings. I am slowly getting the hang of sticking to one thing so it doesn’t all get to muddled into one big mess. And to distract myself slightly from the wedding and preventing myself from coming up with more things I want to try and incorporate I distract myself with things like “Puppy Showers” and “Twilight Night In” and also apparently the biggest no no in the history of weddings and all things bridal – I have been dabbling in some idea’s etc for my Hens.

I can’t help it.

And I know soon enough I am going to have relinquish some, well most of the control of this over to my bridesmaid’s. At the moment I am extremely pleased with 3 of my choices (still driving myself insane over number 4) and have no doubt they will do a fantastic job but after Melbourne Ladies experience and also from all that I have heard from fellow Brides to Be on wedding forums, there have been some shockers out there and that makes me want to hold onto that control that little bit more.

On a slightly different note, I was planning on having just four bridesmaids but thinking last night I decided I would in fact have a Maid Of Honour. I think she will do good in this position. I have been using my Mum as my sound board and throw all my idea’s and anxieties at her since I have been lacking the bridal party support so far, but no with the girls chosen I am also worried how she will take the step back I now need her to do. If I can give up some control of the Hens she can as well. That said she is the Mother of the Bride and I do have a very close relationship with her and would love for the girls to still include her and not completely exclude her.

Now the Bridal party politics start.

*nervous giggle*

Found them!!!

So a few posts back I mentioned for table centers I was after something like this.....

And guess what I just found.

The blue bowls for them to go in!!!

This is what I first had in mind for them as I had only seen the pic of the left. After seeing the pic on the right I had more of an idea what I was actually after but now I just found jumbo blue desert bowls that are just to perfect for words!!

Now to decide on the flowers to put in it. I love the collection in the pic on the right but can I really justify the extra expense for something a majority of guests are hardly going to notice or remember?? I think so, but the budget does not. Let's see what it's looking like next year - but at least I now have the bowls for them to be set in!!!!!

Part of the Family.

H2B and I are eagerly waiting for the day we can bring our new little furbaby girl home. We still haven't thought of a name though I am pushing for Holly/Ella/Ellie but he is being v.stubborn about it. Cause she is just so adorable here is a quick pic :) She was 3.5 weeks in this one!!

Anyways, so I have been thinking about our engagement/pre-wedding photo shoot. We'll be getting it done around this time next year, maybe August/September and I thought how it would be awesome to be able to include her. Sadly the kitties will miss out but I am also looking into getting a pet photographer out to do some portraits of all the pets so they're not missing out completely. And as much as I love the cats, they are different to dogs. It won't be every photo with her in it, just a couple.... here are some pics of people who have done it as well for some inspiration! Love it!!

And one more of our little girl cause she deserves more blog time!!!
taken at 5 weeks.

Melbourne Lady is coming to Perth!!

Melbourne Lady is coming over in March next year so Melbourne Man can go with mine and a few others to the ACDC concert. They will be here for a week and so on the Sunday I am thinking it could be a great chance for all the BM’s to meet each other officially and we can go to the city or something and look at dresses and shoes or something and everyone can get along and ‘bond’ and have lunch and maybe some wine and I will have all my favouritest girls around me for the first time, um…. Ever!!

Speaking of which, looking in the new Cosmo Bride (seriously, it does not come out often enough, stupid Cosmo bitches) I feel in love with a few pairs of shoes, one was only $60 so thinking these would be perfect for the bridesmaids. There is also a wedding there with a very similar bridesmaid dress and groomsman/groom in grey suits. Exactly how I am wanting!! So going to be cutting that all out and putting it on my pinboard.

Now for the best part…. Shoes!! I want the girls in white, or maybe the palest of pink... most likely white.

Love these (pink just so the detail is a little more clearer)

This is the one from Cosmo Bride and is called Donella from Zoom. I can't get a pic online with the bow, so look in the magazine for it!! These are $60 and I really like them for the girls!!

If these didn't have the platform base... yes. Love the detailing on top!

One thing is for sure, there will be nothing like this or with a block heel. *shudders*

Whats in the box?

Here is a sneaky peek, well, not really - no peeking!!

Here is a finished Bridesmaid Gift Box for when I ask/have my girls :):):)

So happy with them!! Now waiting for the 1st November to send out the "Will You Be My Bridesmaid?" cards.

Can NOT wait!!!!
