Bridal Shower
- Instead of gifts, with the invitations a receipe card will be sent out with a little poem about sharing your favourite dish with the bride to use in her future etc etc
- A game that involves cupcakes ;)
- Everyone is to come dressed up in 50's style and a prize for best dressed will be given. So don't forget your gloves, pearls and best hat!
- Croquet and Boche(sp?) will also provide some games and entertainment
- Pink will be the big player colour things wise
But....
I love theming and decorating and organising.
Weddings are proving to be extremely fun to organise. Except there is just to much I want to do and it has worked out to be enough for about 3 weddings. I am slowly getting the hang of sticking to one thing so it doesn’t all get to muddled into one big mess. And to distract myself slightly from the wedding and preventing myself from coming up with more things I want to try and incorporate I distract myself with things like “Puppy Showers” and “Twilight Night In” and also apparently the biggest no no in the history of weddings and all things bridal – I have been dabbling in some idea’s etc for my Hens.
I can’t help it.
And I know soon enough I am going to have relinquish some, well most of the control of this over to my bridesmaid’s. At the moment I am extremely pleased with 3 of my choices (still driving myself insane over number 4) and have no doubt they will do a fantastic job but after Melbourne Ladies experience and also from all that I have heard from fellow Brides to Be on wedding forums, there have been some shockers out there and that makes me want to hold onto that control that little bit more.
On a slightly different note, I was planning on having just four bridesmaids but thinking last night I decided I would in fact have a Maid Of Honour. I think she will do good in this position. I have been using my Mum as my sound board and throw all my idea’s and anxieties at her since I have been lacking the bridal party support so far, but no with the girls chosen I am also worried how she will take the step back I now need her to do. If I can give up some control of the Hens she can as well. That said she is the Mother of the Bride and I do have a very close relationship with her and would love for the girls to still include her and not completely exclude her.
Now the Bridal party politics start.

Found them!!!
And guess what I just found.
The blue bowls for them to go in!!!
This is what I first had in mind for them as I had only seen the pic of the left. After seeing the pic on the right I had more of an idea what I was actually after but now I just found jumbo blue desert bowls that are just to perfect for words!!
Now to decide on the flowers to put in it. I love the collection in the pic on the right but can I really justify the extra expense for something a majority of guests are hardly going to notice or remember?? I think so, but the budget does not. Let's see what it's looking like next year - but at least I now have the bowls for them to be set in!!!!!
Part of the Family.
Melbourne Lady is coming to Perth!!
Speaking of which, looking in the new Cosmo Bride (seriously, it does not come out often enough, stupid Cosmo bitches) I feel in love with a few pairs of shoes, one was only $60 so thinking these would be perfect for the bridesmaids. There is also a wedding there with a very similar bridesmaid dress and groomsman/groom in grey suits. Exactly how I am wanting!! So going to be cutting that all out and putting it on my pinboard.
Now for the best part…. Shoes!! I want the girls in white, or maybe the palest of pink... most likely white.
One thing is for sure, there will be nothing like this or with a block heel. *shudders*
Whats in the box?
So happy with them!! Now waiting for the 1st November to send out the "Will You Be My Bridesmaid?" cards.
Can NOT wait!!!!
