Bridesmaid Dress Colour

Say hello to Number 114.

Thanks Mr Postman.

There is always that excitment of seeing something in your letterbox that looks a little different to the normal white envelopes that contain..... bills. I used to whinge as a child that I never got mail when Mum and Dad had like 10+ letters each day and just wait for Christmas when I'd get some cards addressed to me. Those days are long gone and I'd be content to have an empty letterbox once again.

Well after a few days of total misery I got a perk yesterday arvo, courtesy of the mail man delivering my latest Etsy purchases. It came in a padded yellow envelope with a variety of stamps all around the edges and as soon as I saw that corner of yellow poking out of the front slot... I knew what it was.

And I wasn't disappointed!

Must... Stop... Spending

While browsing etsy this afternoon I came across these clutches.

I know what you're all thinking. These would be a perfect match for the bridesmaids shoes with the ruffle top if only the brown/orange was tiffany blue. See I told you I knew what you were thinking, or maybe it's just me.

Either way.... I want the girls to have these. Only thing is, so far a little chunk of the wedding budget has been spent on the girls. Their hair, makeup, jewellery, contribution to shoes, parasols, hair pieces, gifts, asking to be bridesmaid gifts, other treats I have organised for them..... These bags as adorable and perfect as they are would make money spent on them insane. Especially considering the boys have been estimated and nothing has actually been bought and locked away in my mothers spare room like the above.

Sigh.... want bags.

New wedding mantra: MUST STOP SPENDING!!!!!!

And I'm done!

Months of stressing and over planning and nightmares have really been for nothing.

I am done.

Bring this wedding on for shnizzle manizzle lol!!

And so.... *insert drum roll here* I present to you my inspiration board with items I actually own (or in the case of my dress - being made) all ready to go for the big day. Well except hair. I still need to sort out a hairdresser or two.

But tada!! Here I am! Complete with my kick ass totally awesome blue shoes (heels for day, flats for reception)

Rehearsal Dinners?!

Shakespeare had it all wrong, do Australians do Rehearsal Dinners? is the question.

For Melbourne Lady’s, after we went to the church for a walk through we, as in Mr and Mrs Melbourne Lady, H2B and I went to Mr ML fav restaurant and the rest of the bridal party and people went and did their own thing. That is really the only wedding I have been really involved in and it wasn’t really a rehearsal dinner as such.

Reading the thousands of blogs and websites, they are predominantly American based and well no offence but weddings and Americans are just so OTT and I also noticed it’s mainly church based weddings that do this after their walk through.

I had hoped on having a bridal party (and partners) dinner at The Goose or somewhere nice in Busselton a couple of nights before to give the girls and guys their gifts and get into a stress free holiday mode (or so I hope) but I don’t think that’s going to happen and we were looking at doing a BBQ on the Friday night for when the majority of friends/family will be coming down so they don’t have to worry about dinner, spend some time with us before the big day and again with the unwinding before it all happens.

Again doesn’t look like that’s feasible.

So for something I’ve only really seen on American TV Shows and Blogs – I guess no, Australians don’t do rehearsal dinners.

Especially not this one.

Pretty Writing.

I am tempted to learn how to do calligraphy just so I can address our invites like this......

So pretty, but the more I think about it the most past the idea I get. So from the computer our address labels shall come!

Lightbulb Moment

While boredly browsing last night I came across a post on Wedding Bee from Miss Cola which sums up my situation with H2B. See it here

Me: So should I google for some aqua socks?

Him: Why?

Me: For the wedding moron.

Him: Why?

Me: To wear. Then you get a cute little photo like this *googles sock photo*

Him: Oh. Why?

Me: Cause it's cute and makes nice photos

Him: I thought we were going to wear black cause you do that when you wear a suit.

Me: Ok, how about these socks *googles groomsmen socks* It has Groomsmen on it and you can get the Groom ones.

Him: Ok that'll work. I still don't understand why.

Well you don't really need to understand it, just do it lol!

So reading Miss Cola's post, I felt like she knew what was in my mind. I made him read it, complete with turning the TV off so he had little choice to do what I asked and his response was:

"Hey, they're like us - she said the same thing about sock photos!"

And... by george, I think he got it!!! Bless.
